Michael Evangelho, P.T., PRI Founder, Developer of Function Restoration
Michael Evangelho is the founder of Pain Resolution Institute and developer of the Function Restoration approach. He received his Physical Therapy training at the University of California, San Francisco and began practicing in 1982. PRI is a result of abundant study and experience over the past 30 years of practice as a Physical Therapist (for educational background and experience, please visit History of PRI). Although Michael’s work is very important to him, his family has always been his greatest blessing. He and his wife Vicki have raised five children. In recent years, their family has expanded to include two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law and six grandchildren. As demonstrated in his FR approach, he has come to realize the importance of order for anything to function as it should. Perhaps he learned the importance of continually “restoring order” most evidently though his experiences, challenges and rewards of family life.
He and his wife Vicki live in Fresno, California, although they enjoy traveling all over the country.
Chris Whitehead, P.T., Function Restoration Therapist
Chris has worked in the Physical Therapy field for over 33 years. In 1979, he began as a Licensed PT assistant in the U.S. Navy. Following his release from active duty in 1983, he joined the Navy Reserves, and returned to college. He graduated from CSU Fresno as a Licensed Physical Therapist in 1988. He then received his Commission in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Chris began working as a full time civilian Physical Therapist in the Central Valley of California. He also worked part-time on military bases in Lemoore, CA., and San Diego, CA. He retired from the Navy in 2003 after 28 years of service.
His extensive post graduate education has consisted of orthopedics, spinal manual therapy, and biomechanicals. Although he has worked with a wide range of age groups from children to the elderly, his primary emphasis has always been on patients with both acute and chronic pain.
Nearly 5 years ago, Chris was reunited with Mike Evangelho at the formally Center for Orthopedic and Spinal Physical Therapy, now Pain Resolution Institute. He then began the extensive hands on training, learning the “Function Restoration” approach. Over these 4+ years, Chris has continued to help many patients with severe chronic and acute musculoskeletal and biomechanical problems. He has done this by identifying the source of their problems and recommending the best possible solution to allow true resolve of many painful conditions.
Chris and his wife Karen have been married for 35 years. He has 3 grown daughters, one grandson, and a granddaughter.
